Formby Hall to host 2027 Golf Tourism England Convention

Leading Lancashire resort to host annual England golf industry tourism event next year.

Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, located in Formby, Merseyside, will host the 8th Golf Tourism England (GTE) Convention from July 25-27, 2027.

Next year’s convention will mark a decade since the launch of the flagship golf travel industry gathering, with golf clubs, resorts, hotels, tour operators and travel specialists expected to meet on England’s Golf Coast.

David Goscombe, Director of Golf & Leisure at Formby Hall, explains that the GTE Convention’s return to Formby Hall in 2027is especially significant for the resort. “Hosting the Golf Tourism England Convention again, ten years after the first event was held at Formby Hall, is something we’re really proud to be part of.”

This anniversary makes Formby Hall a particularly fitting setting for the 2027 GTE Convention, which will bring golf travel professionals from across Europe and the United States to England’s Golf Coast.

Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, has established itself as one of the UK’s leading golf resorts, notable for its challenging 18-hole championship course. Formby Hall’s location also plays an important role, as the resort is just a few minutes from several of the most renowned courses in the country, including Royal Birkdale, Hillside, Southport & Ainsdale, and Formby Golf Club.

Goscombe adds: “The convention will be bringing some of the leading figures in golf tourism to this part of the country. It gives us the chance to show them what Formby Hall has to offer and, just as importantly, introduce them to the wider golf experience across Southport and England’s Golf Coast.”

For Formby Hall, the three-day event will give visiting delegates the opportunity to spend time in one of England’s most established golfing regions, where golf tourism has long been a major part of the local visitor economy.
