Inrange, the ball-tracking technology company behind almost 100 driving ranges worldwide, is to sponsor and speak at the 2026 GCAE European Golf Business Conference, which is taking place in Vilamoura, Portugal, from November 11-13.
Founded in 2003 and based in the Netherlands, the GCAE is the non-profit trade association for Europe’s golf facility owners and operators. It not only provides a shared voice on policy, but its also provides hard data on how their businesses compare. Its benchmarking work shows owners where revenue comes from, where it leaks, and what the best-run facilities do differently. That focus on numbers is where the two organisations align perfectly.
For most European courses, the driving range is a cost centre. Golfers hit buckets, warm up, and leave. Ball sales are counted, but almost nothing else is: not dwell time, not repeat visits, not who’s in the bays. A facility can benchmark every yard of its course and still know almost nothing about one of its busiest spaces.
Inrange turns open-air ranges into connected, modern, measurable experiences: competitions, games, and shot data that bring players back, and give operators visibility they didn’t have before.
Nick Longley, co-founder of Inrange, said: “Renate Roeleveld [GCAE CEO] and Colin Mayes [GCAE President] understand European operators better than anyone, and under their leadership GCAE has given golf businesses something they rarely had: a clear view of how they compare. We want to help bring that same clarity to the range, the one part of the facility nobody’s measuring. Vilamoura is the right place to start that conversation.”
