Faldo Futures looks to expand in 2027 following success of 2026 Series

Following the huge success of the 2026 Faldo Futures Series, plans are already taking shape for an even bigger programme in 2027, with more golf clubs being encouraged to become involved and help introduce the next generation of young players to competitive golf.

The 2026 Series culminated in a memorable Faldo Futures Final at The Belfry on 26 and 27 August, bringing together talented boys and girls aged between seven and 12 for two days of competition, inspiration and unique experiences during the week of the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

It provided a fitting finale to another highly successful year for Faldo Futures and underlined the programme’s ambition to create an accessible pathway into competitive golf for young players.

With attention now turning towards 2027, the Faldo Series is looking to build on that momentum by expanding the number of participating venues and giving even more youngsters the opportunity to begin their own Faldo Futures journey.

Golf clubs play a central role in that ambition, hosting local qualifying events which provide young golfers with an opportunity to compete in an inclusive and welcoming environment before potentially progressing through Regional Finals and ultimately to the Faldo Futures Final.

The success of the 2026 Final demonstrated just what that journey can lead to. Staged alongside one of the DP World Tour’s most prestigious events, the finalists were able to experience tournament golf on an entirely different scale. Every player received tickets to the British Masters, giving them the chance to watch some of the world’s leading professionals in action and soak up the atmosphere at one of golf’s most iconic venues.

The youngsters also enjoyed a very special golf clinic with Sir Nick Faldo, receiving advice and inspiration first-hand from the six-time Major Champion.

The week included further experiences designed to inspire the players beyond the competition itself. Faldo Series girls enjoyed a special day together at the British Masters, sharing their golfing journeys and meeting Ellie Eskoog, who spoke about her own experiences within the game and answered questions from the young players.

After watching the professionals in action, the group visited Husqvarna House in the PGA Village for food, interviews and conversations around the opportunities available to girls through golf and how the sport can encourage even more young female players to get involved.

On the course, the final showcased the exceptional talent already emerging through junior golf. Six champions were crowned across the age categories: Mnqobi Chilvers of Abbey Hill Golf Club and Olivia Larche of Robin Hood Golf Club in the 7–8 categories; Ralph Smith of Corhampton Golf Club and Florrie Collings of Thorpe Hall Golf Club in the 9–10 age groups; and James Prest of Stockport Golf Club and Chloe Ferneyhough of Herefordshire Golf Club in the 11–12 categories.

Prest’s victory followed an exceptional four-way tie at one under par in the Boys 11–12 competition, while Smith also finished one under par to claim the Boys 9–10 title.

For all six champions, their success at The Belfry also opened the door to an exciting international opportunity, with every age-group winner receiving an invitation to compete at the 2027 Junior World Finals in California.

The Final was delivered despite challenging weather conditions, with staff, volunteers, ambassadors, marshals, referees and media personnel working throughout the event to ensure the young players enjoyed an experience to remember.

The continued development of Faldo Futures is also supported by The R&A, whose commitment to junior golf and creating opportunities for young people to engage with the sport is helping the Series reach and inspire more young golfers.

At the heart of Faldo Futures remains a simple philosophy: to give young golfers opportunities, experiences and inspiration that can help develop both their games and their ambitions.

The 2026 Series demonstrated the impact that philosophy can have – from youngsters taking their first steps into competitive golf at their local club to finalists playing at The Belfry, meeting Sir Nick Faldo and, for six champions, earning the opportunity to take their game onto the international stage.

Now the Faldo Series wants even more golf clubs to be part of that journey in 2027. Clubs across the country are being encouraged to register their interest in hosting a Faldo Futures qualifier, helping to expand the reach of the Series and giving more boys and girls the opportunity to experience competitive golf.
