Final Qualifying for The Open to be broadcast live

The R&A breaks new ground by broadcasting live coverage of Final Qualifying from all four venues.

The R&A will broadcast live coverage of Final Qualifying for The 154th Open on its YouTube channel for the first time, enabling fans to watch the closing stages from all four venues as players battle for places to compete in the Championship at Royal Birkdale. 

Final Qualifying for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale will take place on June 30, with 36-hole stroke play events being played at Burnam & Berrow, Dundonald, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire.

Fans can watch the progress of their favourite golfers via The R&A YouTube channel from 4.30pm. Live radio coverage, which will be hosted by Gabbie Partington, Richard Boxall and Jamie Spence, with reporters providing on-the-ground updates, is also available via TheOpen.com and The Open app from the same time.

Coverage of Final Qualifying will also include a live blog via TheOpen.com, providing videos, images and text updates from each venue, along with live scoring from each venue.

A total of 288 golfers will compete in Final Qualifying with 20 places, five per venue, available into The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale, July 16-19.
