GolfMagic launches new women’s golf podcast, ‘Her Game’

New weekly podcast series celebrates the women shaping and inspiring the golf industry.

Golf media brand GolfMagic has launched ‘Her Game’, a new weekly podcast series celebrating the women shaping, influencing and inspiring the golf industry.

Presented by GolfMagic’s Georgina Black, Her Game will feature conversations with players, broadcasters, creators, leaders and  personalities from across the game, exploring their careers, experiences and the different routes they have taken within golf.

The series aims to showcase the breadth of opportunities available within the golf industry, while celebrating the women already making their mark and inspiring the next generation.

For the first episode, Black was joined by Sky Sports Golf presenter and Husqvarna brand ambassador Iona Stephen at the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

The pair discussed Stephen’s unconventional route into golf, the injury that changed the direction of her professional playing career and her subsequent rise to become one of the most recognisable broadcasters in the game.

Commenting on the launch of Her Game, GolfMagic Editor Andy Roberts said:  “We’re incredibly proud to launch Her Game and to create a platform dedicated to celebrating the women who are helping shape the golf industry.

“There are so many incredible career opportunities within golf, both on and off the course, and we want Her Game to showcase those different pathways while highlighting the stories of the women already making a difference.

“Georgina has put an enormous amount of passion and work into bringing this project to life, and it’s been fantastic to support her throughout that process. Starting the series with Iona Stephen was the perfect introduction, but this is only the beginning – we have some brilliant guests and stories coming up.

Her Game represents another exciting chapter for GolfMagic, and we’re really looking forward to seeing where the series goes.”

GolfMagic Presenter Georgina Black said: “There has been a huge amount of work behind the scenes to get Her Game off the ground, but when you’re working on something you’re genuinely passionate about, it never really feels like work.

“Over the coming weeks and months, I’ll be speaking to incredible women from across the golf industry – sharing their stories, celebrating their achievements and, most importantly, showing the next generation that there is a place for everyone in golf.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better guest to launch the series than Iona Stephen. Recording our first episode at the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes made it even more special, and Iona’s story is a brilliant example of how a career in golf can take you in directions you never expected.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Andy and the whole GolfMagic team for backing the idea from the very beginning. I’ve always believed that the bigger media outlets have an important role to play in elevating women’s golf, so it was incredibly encouraging to have the team immediately get behind the project and give me the support and freedom to make it happen.

“There is still plenty of work to do to continue elevating women’s golf, and that responsibility belongs to all of us. I’m really excited to play my part through Her Game and, hopefully, inspire even more women to see the opportunities that exist within our sport.”
