Wales Golf has renewed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Howden Insurance Brokers, backing the Wales Golf Club of the Year Award.
Each year, the trophy is presented at the annual Wales Golf Annual Awards held at Celtic Manor Resort. Howden have been proud partners of Wales Golf since 2023.
Hannah McAllister, Wales Golf Chief Executive, is delighted that Howden Sport & Entertainment have renewed the partnership for at least three more years.
“Howden is the insurance broker to Wales Golf and has been fantastic to work with over the last few years,” she said. “Getting the insurance cover right is an important issue for our golf clubs in Wales and Howden is well placed to provide us with bespoke insurance plans for clubs in our network.
“They also provide education to our clubs on insurance matters through our roadshows and have proved to be a great partner, as well as our insurance supplier. The new three-year deal shows their commitment to Wales Golf, as well as our shared ambition for the partnership.”
This year’s Wales Golf Club of the Year Award went to Machynys Resort, near Llanelli, following previous winners Hawarden in North Wales and Cardigan in West Wales during the time of Howden’s sponsorship.
Howden Sport & Entertainment is a dedicated division within Howden Insurance Brokers that specialise in both national and international sport risk. Howden works with over 300 national governing bodies in the UK to arrange their insurance programmes.
Alyn Spratt, Howden Sport & Entertainment’s Senior Account Executive, commented: “We’re really pleased to renew our sponsorship of the Wales Golf Club of the Year Award for another three years. We’ve loved working with Hannah McAllister and the team at Wales Golf since 2023, and we’re proud to continue our support to golf clubs across Wales.
“Getting the right insurance cover in place is so important, and we aim to make it simple by building policies around each club’s requirements. We also enjoy meeting clubs at the roadshows where we provide practical support in person. We’re excited about what the next three years have in store.”
