The R&A and Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels have announced a new partnership designating Marine & Lawn Rusacks as the ‘Official Hotel of The 155th Open’ for the Championship’s return to St Andrews in 2027.

The partnership also introduces ‘The Open Grand Tour’, a new curated experience giving golfers access to the courses that have shaped the history of The Open.

Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels is a collection of storied destinations devoted to the game of golf and dedicated to creating the best hospitality experiences around the round. The brand’s eight properties, including two opening in 2027, are set alongside the world’s most coveted courses, from the Old Course at St Andrews to Royal Dornoch in Scotland and Royal County Down in Northern Ireland.

Marine & Lawn Rusacks stands beside the 18th fairway of the Old Course, a truly unique position that no other golf hotel can enjoy. The property opened in 1887 and has welcomed players, patrons, and spectators throughout the Championship’s history.

Marine & Lawn Rusacks’ ‘18’ rooftop experience provides guests with views across the famous course, notably the closing and opening holes, while the hotel’s position in the heart of the ‘Auld Grey Toon’ makes it a focal point during one of the biggest weeks in the golf calendar, just as it will be again when The Open returns to St Andrews in July 2027.

During the Championship, the partnership will ensure The R&A can offer the finest hospitality experiences to guests with Eighteen at The Open, set within Marine & Lawn Rusacks and designed to offer a choice of experiences during Championship days.

Hospitality experiences are available within either The Bridge, the hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant with a front-row seat to the Swilcan Bridge, or ’18,’ the hotel’s destination rooftop bar and restaurant with unparalleled views of the iconic 18th hole. This exclusive experience is launching soon, with interest registered by emailing Experiences@TheOpen.com.

Marine & Lawn Rusacks will be offering guests a range of hospitality experiences during the Open Championship and throughout the year

From October 2026 to December 2027, the property will activate across hospitality, content, merchandising, and promotional activity.

Ben Weprin, CEO of AJ Capital Partners, said: “St Andrews is where Marine & Lawn began, and in many ways, it’s where we learned what a great golf hotel should be. The game has a remarkable ability to connect generations, and The Open is its greatest expression of that. To welcome the Championship home to St Andrews – and to invite golfers to experience the courses and traditions that have defined it in partnership with The R&A – is something we’ve dreamed about since we opened our doors here.”

As part of the partnership, Marine & Lawn will host The Open Grand Tour, which combines rounds at multiple venues that have hosted The Open, exclusive Clubhouse experiences, and stays at the Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels that sit beside them.

Up to four Open Grand Tours will take place outside The Open Championship between May 2027 and June 2028, with each accommodating a maximum of 16 guests. Further details on The Open Grand Tour dates, participating venues of The Open, and the ability to book these exclusive experiences will be announced this autumn.

Henry Keeling, Director of Partnerships at The R&A, said:“Marine & Lawn Rusacks has a longstanding connection with golf in St Andrews and its location overlooking the Old Course makes it a fitting Official Hotel of The 155th Open as the Championship returns in 2027. The Open Grand Tour will give golfers the opportunity to experience some of the renowned links that have played an important part in the Championship’s history, while gaining a closer insight into The Open and its heritage.”

The partnership with The R&A also coincides with the launch of the Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels name, which replaces Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. Every property across Scotland, Northern Ireland, and soon the US will take the new name. The two latest additions are Marine & Lawn Greywalls, a country estate with six acres of walled gardens beside Muirfield’s 18th green, which will relaunch under the brand in summer 2027; and Marine & Lawn Pine Needles in North Carolina, which will debut as the collection’s first US property in autumn 2027.

Phillip Allen, President of Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels, said: “Arriving with the new name is a motto found at Greywalls. Inscribed on an entrance keystone in 1901 is the Latin phrase LVDO ERGO VIVO, which translates as I PLAY, THEREFORE I LIVE. In very few words, it captures the passion, vitality, and excitement of the golfers Marine & Lawn Golf Hotels was built to serve, and it sits at the heart of the brand today.”
