Royal Dornoch’s Championship Course is no stranger to high profile events.
The latest earmarked for the world-famous Highland club is the Senior PGA Professional Championship, which will see a 288-strong field teeing-up Wednesday13th to Friday 15th May.
It marks the first time Scotland has hosted the tournament, which is regarded as one of the key dates on the PGA Seniors’ calendar.
General manager Neil Hampton is ready to welcome competitors to Royal Dornoch and the recently unveiled £13.9 million clubhouse, which is the host venue for the 2028 Curtis Cup.
“We are delighted that Royal Dornoch has been selected to host this event as it comes north of the border for the first time. It is another feather in our cap,” he said.
“We have had a great response to our appeal for members to support the tournament, with more than 40 volunteering for roles ranging from on-course scoring to driving shuttle buses to the practice ground.
“It’s a great chance for golf fans in the area to come along and see some top-class action at close quarters, with a number of former European Tour players taking part.
“And I’m sure there will be strong local support for our own pro, Andrew Skinner.”

Professionals over the age of 50 from all over the UK and beyond will be chasing the £7,500 winner’s cheque and a top 10 finish which secures a place in the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship at Trump International Golf Links, Aberdeenshire from 31st July to 4th August, and a potential springboard for the European Seniors Tour.
