LANDMARK, the global PR and brand marketing agency trusted by Top 100 courses, five-star golf resorts and leading private members’ clubs, has become 100% employee owned.

The transfer to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) secures LANDMARK’s long-term independence and places the future of the business directly into the hands of its respected team of brand, PR, digital marketing and AI professionals.

Since its founding in 2003 by former Golf World journalist Gary Firkins, LANDMARK has established itself as the trusted PR and communications partner for some of the industry’s most iconic brands, destinations, organisations and events, including the Ryder Cup.

The agency’s high-profile client portfolio includes Gleneagles, Camiral, European Tour Destinations, Perry Ellis Europe (Callaway Apparel, Original Penguin Golf), Terre Blanche, France, Heritage Resorts & Golf, Mauritius, Arabella Golf Resort Mallorca and Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda.

Firkins said: “Our talented and highly professional team has always taken ownership of the brilliant work we do for clients – and now they have ownership of the business they do it for. Transitioning to an EOT creates an even stronger sense of accountability, ambition and commitment, which directly elevates the results we deliver for our clients.”

For more than two decades, LANDMARK has been at the forefront of industry leadership initiatives, producing influential market studies and content for clients including KPMG, Syngenta, Club Car and the Club Managers Association of Europe (England Region).

It is also a global leader in sustainability communications with Firkins presenting Syngenta’s The Green Report, a YouTube documentary series sharing stories from the world’s most sustainably-managed golf courses.

Firkins and CEO John McKenzie will continue to lead LANDMARK, and the same experienced team, structure and operations remain unchanged.

McKenzie said: “Employee ownership is about taking a long-term view and protecting the culture and values on which LANDMARK has been built. We are incredibly excited to be evolving our dynamic business, where every team member is directly invested in our clients’ success.”
