CHIP IN, a new UK-licensed golf pools app, has officially launched, giving golf fans a more social, interactive way to engage with the four men’s major championships and flagship events on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
Designed for golf fans looking to enhance the biggest events in the golfing calendar, CHIP IN allows users to create private leagues with friends, colleagues or club members, join public competitions and follow live leaderboards as tournaments unfold.
The result is an all-new real money fantasy format, with players selecting one golfer from each of eight ranked pots. Teams move up and down the major-themed leaderboard based on the combined score of the best four performing players of the eight.
CHIP IN was founded in 2024 by Patch Fordham and two close friends who created this simple, yet highly engaging structure to bring their friendship group together to compete against each other for the first major of the year. What started as a small, informal game played on a spreadsheet quickly gained traction as word spread among more friends, colleagues and fellow golf fans wanting to get involved.
Recognising the broader appeal of this format and opportunity to scale the platform’s reach, Fordham developed CHIP IN into a dedicated app, built to bring even more excitement to majors and marquee events on the golfing calendar.

CHIP IN has since grown into a fully licensed app where many users engaged in a pool for the first major of 2026, featuring a prize pot of more than £45,000.
“Golfers are competitive, and especially love competing against friends. Whether that’s a fourball on a Saturday morning, a golf trip abroad or a debate in the clubhouse after a round,” said Patch. “We created CHIP IN to bring that same friendly, yet competitive spirit to the way fans watch professional golf. The biggest tournaments naturally bring people together, and we wanted to make those moments even more engaging.”
Unlike the existing golf betting offering, which is one-dimensional and fixed-odds in structure, CHIP IN introduces players to golfers across the field, encouraging engagement with those at the lower end of the rankings, as well as the in-form top-ranked players.
CHIP IN makes organising and participating in leagues simple and accessible. Players can set up a league to be shared with their existing messaging app groups, golf tour communities or even their wider golf club membership. The intuitive platform combines the camaraderie of traditional golf sweepstakes with a modern app experience, allowing users to compete with close friends or join wider golf communities with larger prize pots.
“Our dream is to reinvent gambling and offer a new means for golf fans to enjoy the epic turns of a golf tournament to an even greater extent,” added Fordham, who plans to expand the app into other sports. “With the US Open taking place this week, there is no better time to download the app and we can’t wait to see our community come together again.”
CHIP IN operates under a UK Gambling Commission Remote Pool Betting Licence and incorporates age verification, responsible gambling tools, deposit controls and secure payment processing. The app is available to UK users aged 18 and over.
