Royal Ascot Golf Club has made significant progress in recent years, developing many aspects of the business. Much of that success has been attributed to a dedicated team that has consistently gone above and beyond to deliver results for members, visitors and stakeholders alike

As the Club continues to evolve, a new position has been created within the management structure that reflects both the organisation’s ambitions and its commitment to developing future leaders within the golf industry

The newly established Assistant General Manager (Apprentice) role offers an opportunity for an ambitious individual to gain practical experience across all areas of club operations while following a structured pathway towards becoming a Certified Club Manager (CCM).

Designed as a genuine career-development position rather than a traditional entry-level role, the appointment combines hands-on operational responsibility with fully funded professional education through the Club Management Association of Europe (CMAE).

The successful candidate will have exposure to golf operations, hospitality, events, finance and strategic planning, providing a broad understanding of how a modern members’ club operates.

While previous management experience would be advantageous, the Club is primarily seeking an individual with ambition, professionalism and a desire to build a long-term career within the industry.

The role offers a starting salary of £24,000–£26,000, together with a structured progression framework linked to professional qualifications. As candidates progress through the CMAE education pathway and achieve qualifications such as CMDip and Certified Club Manager status, earning potential is expected to exceed £38,000.

Opportunities offering this combination of professional development, responsibility and long-term career progression remain relatively uncommon within the golf industry, making this a noteworthy appointment for both the Club and prospective candidates.
