Pure Swing expands with move to larger Surrey indoor golf studio

Simulator, coaching and fitting facility moves to new premises to cope with increased demand for indoor golf experiences.

Independent indoor golf operator Pure Swing has expanded its business with a move to larger premises in Hersham, Surrey, following two years at its original site in Surbiton.

The new studio, which opened at 26b Lyon Road, Hersham, on September 28, features three simulator bays equipped with Foresight launch monitor technology, alongside a retail area, lounge and coworking facilities.

The latter allows members to combine work with golf, with desks available for those wanting to use the studio as a workspace and fit practice sessions around meetings and other commitments.

Pure Swing is run by brothers Jake and Harvey Thomas, who believe indoor and simulator golf will play an increasingly important role in enabling UK golfers to participate in the sport throughout the year.

The Hersham facility offers access to more than 100 virtual golf courses, with bays available on a pay-as-you-go basis from £25 per hour as well as through a range of membership packages.

Membership options are designed to cater for different levels of usage, starting at around £25 per month. Packages include access to the Foresight-equipped bays, discounted bookings and priority booking, while the top membership provides unlimited off-peak use plus 12 peak hours per month, subject to daily usage limits.

The studio also provides PGA professional coaching and custom fitting. PGA professional Guy Gibson, who has competed in the UK and Australia, uses GCQuad technology and performance data to help golfers improve accuracy and distance.

Pure Swing is also an official Callaway fitting studio, offering data-led custom fitting designed to match equipment to an individual golfer’s swing, playing objectives and style.

Sustainability also played a part in the move. The simulator bays were reconstructed using materials from Pure Swing’s former Surbiton studio, while leftover timber from the fit-out was donated to Woking-based wood recycling charity The Useful Wood Company.

The expansion reflects the continued development of the UK indoor golf sector, with Pure Swing combining simulator golf, coaching, club fitting, retail and flexible working facilities under one roof.
