The PGA is proud to announce its involvement in ‘Thank A PGA Pro Day’, a new global initiative established by the PGA World Alliance – the international body representing the world’s professional golf organisations – which will take place for the first time on 31 July 2026.
Thank A PGA Pro Day is a dedicated global day of recognition in celebration of PGA Professionals who make such a significant difference to the golf community and wider industry, with more than 60,000 PGA Professionals coaching, managing and working in golf clubs and facilities around the world.
Tristan Crew MBE, Executive Director – Member Services at The PGA, said: “Thank A PGA Pro Day is a fantastic initiative and one The PGA is delighted to be part of. Our Members give so much to this game – coaching and nurturing talent, managing clubs, brands and businesses and welcoming millions of recreational golfers. This is a moment to recognise everything they do.
“The PGA World Alliance brings together professional golf organisations from across the world to share knowledge and drive the game forward together. It is through that collaboration that initiatives like Thank A PGA Pro Day are born, and we are proud to stand alongside our global counterparts in celebrating the PGA Professionals who make golf what it is.”
The theme for this year’s inaugural campaign is ‘Behind Every Golfer’. No matter what level a golfer plays at, there will almost certainly be a PGA Professional somewhere in their story – someone who taught them, encouraged them or simply made them feel welcome the first time they picked up a club.

Gavin Kirkman, Chair of the PGA World Alliance and CEO of the PGA of Australia, said: “The ‘Thank A PGA Pro Day’ initiative offers an opportunity for all golfers in our global communities to pay tribute to the Women and Men around the world who play such an important role in growing the game.
“PGA Professionals hold critical roles across all aspects of the sport, either as the first point of contact for budding players, local administrators, junior coaches or as a friendly face ready to offer advice to millions of recreational players globally.
“As we look to celebrate the inaugural ‘Thank A Pro Day’, on behalf of the PGA World Alliance, I’d like to say thank you to every PGA Professional around the world for your continued passion, dedication and contribution to golf. We are proud to recognise your tireless work, expertise and impact you have on a daily basis as you continue to serve as some of the greatest ambassadors of the sport that we love.”

The PGA invites golfers of all levels, Members, clubs and societies to join in the celebration on 31 July by sharing their thanks across social media channels using using #ThankAPGAProDay and #BehindEveryGolfer
