A new indoor golf performance studio opened this month on the Wirral, offering local golfers a modern way to practise, play and improve their game all year round.
Syntax Golf, founded by Wirral golfer and technology leader Richard Greening, combines tour-level golf technology with a focused environment designed for structured practice and performance improvement.
Greening, who has spent his career working in global technology and data-driven industries, and has been recognised as one of the UK’s top 100 CIOs for the past two consecutive years, said the idea was inspired by PGA Tour player Jason Day’s private barn, a high performance training space, combining simulators, putting and fitness.
“Modern golf is a game built on data, feedback and continuous improvement,” he said. “Technology has transformed how elite players practise, but most club golfers have not had easy access to it. This has created a void that is getting bigger. The goal was to build something different from both traditional driving ranges and entertainment-style simulator venues.”

Open 6am to 11pm every day, 365 days a year, Syntax Golf, which is located in Champions Business Park near Arrowe Country Park, boasts multiple bays featuring Trackman technology which are available for bookings for a minimum of one hour per session. The simulator boasts over 500 golf courses around the world for game play.
The studio, which officially opened on April 6, also includes a dedicated putting area with data analysis technology provided by Science & Motion and a golf-specific fitness area, allowing members to work on all aspects of their game in one place. These are available to book for 30-minute sessions as a minimum.
Syntax Golf has a limited number of founding memberships remaining, along with off-peak and corporate memberships. It is not open to non-members.
