Golf retail group Foremost Golf has announced the winners of the prestigious Foremost Member Awards for 2025.
The recipients of the four awards – Foremost Member of the Year, Elite Marketing Programme (EMP) Member of the Year, Foremost POS Business of the Year, and Retail Shop of the Year – reflect hardworking Foremost members who continue to set the benchmark in utilising modern retail systems and services to drive their businesses forward.
John Murray of Moray Golf Club is the deserving winner of the coveted Foremost Member of the Year for 2025, recognised for his all-round commitment to delivering a successful and well-rounded professional shop business, alongside the highest levels of customer service. Murray’s engagement with the Foremost group has consistently been outstanding, and he has previously been nominated for both EMP and Member of the Year awards, underlining his long-term performance.
“Being named Foremost Member of the Year is a real honour,” said John. “I take great pride in delivering a strong service to my members and customers, and the support from Foremost has been invaluable in helping me develop the business. It’s also a real team effort, and I couldn’t achieve this without the fantastic pro shop team behind me.”

EMP Member of the Year was awarded to Tim Hall of Ross-on-Wye Golf Club, whose outstanding approach to local and retail marketing, combined with strong customer engagement, has helped drive consistent performance within his business. A leading golf retail marketer, Hall has re-engaged with all elements of the Elite Marketing Programme (EMP) to maximise results, while continuing to deliver coaching clinics and events that support both his business and participation at Ross-on-Wye Golf Club.
“I’m really pleased to receive this award,” said Tim. “The Elite Marketing Programme hasn’t just helped my business; it has transformed how I communicate with my customers and strengthened my brand presence online. I honestly wouldn’t open a golf business without it at the forefront of everything.”
James Caldwell of Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club received the group’s new award of Foremost POS Business of the Year for 2025, highlighting the growing importance of data-led retail. A relatively new Foremost member, Caldwell has fully embraced the POS platform, enabling him to better manage stock, improve efficiency, gain greater control over day-to-day operations, and analyse overall business performance through regular review meetings with his local Foremost Business Development Consultant.
“To win POS Business of the Year is fantastic recognition,” said James. “Moving onto the Foremost POS system has given me much better visibility of the business, from stock control through to overall performance. It’s made day-to-day operations more efficient and allowed me to make more informed decisions moving forward.”
Martin Heggie of Moortown Golf Club was the recipient of Retail Shop of the Year for 2025. A Foremost member since 1989, Heggie continues to deliver an exceptional retail experience alongside his son-in-law Eddie, maintaining high standards in merchandising, presentation, and customer service within the pro shop.
“We’re honoured to be named Foremost Retail Shop of the Year,” said Martin. “For over 23 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Head Professional at Moortown, alongside Eddie Hammond, who has been a cornerstone of the team as Head Assistant for two decades. This recognition from Foremost is a meaningful reflection of the dedication, experience, and teamwork that underpin everything we do.”
Foremost Managing Director, Andy Martin, commented: “I would like to congratulate all of our 2025 award winners for their hard work and commitment to developing their businesses. Each of them has embraced the support available through Foremost and demonstrated how a proactive approach can deliver real results.”
