HMH is instructed to bring Sandfield Golf Course & Driving Range to market, the first time this profitable business has been offered for sale since opening in 1989.

This family-owned and operated business occupies a freehold site close to Chester, within easy reach of The Wirral.

The facilities include an 18-bay covered floodlit golf driving range with three additional open bays and small retail kiosk; an attractive 9-hole,1,936-yard, par-31 parkland golf course; a practice putting green, and a purpose-built greenkeeping complex with full complement of modern greenkeeping equipment.

The property is being sold as the current owner wishes to retire, with offers in the region of £950,00 being invited.

Key to this opportunity is its potential for commercialisation. Whilst the business already generates a high profit, it is very much a first-generation facility. The ability to add range technology, simulators, golf retail and ancillary facilities – such as padel courts (STPP) – is readily apparent and undoubtedly brings additional appeal.

Ben Allen at HMH said: “Freehold golf ranges are always in high demand, as clearly demonstrated by our recent sale of GolfPlex in Berkshire where we received an unprecedented amount of interest.

“The Sandfield Golf business has yet to be fully exploited, and its potential for growth, most notably by introducing technology to the range, is likely to be key for the buyer. The adjacent 9-hole golf course is an ideal facility for novices and senior players. With approximately 24,000 rounds played on the course each year, it makes a valuable contribution to the business.”
