A Scottish estate that boasts a golf course that was once described by its architect, David McLay Kidd, as ‘the best inland site I’ve ever seen for a golf course’, has been put up for sale.
Offers are being invited for gWest in Blackford, Perth and Kinross, which extends to around 639 acres and includes an 18-hole championship course and clubhouse shell, inspired by noted 18th-century Scottish architect Colen Campbell.
gWest sits in one of Scotland’s best-known golf and leisure corridors, to the west of Gleneagles and between Perth and Stirling. The golf course was originally completed in 2009, but very few have had the opportunity to play it.
Independent property consultancy Knight Frank has been instructed to find a buyer for the estate, which has planning consent for up to 170 residential plots, a hotel and spa, leisure and entertainment facilities, and staff accommodation.
The estate is being sold by the Dubai-based Al Tajir family who also own water company Highland Spring.
