AVA Golf launches new digital coaching platform

Platform turns performance data garnered from shot-tracking and analysis devices into personalised improvement plans.

AVA Golf has officially launched its new digital coaching platform that aims to bridge the gap between golf performance tracking and meaningful game improvement, offering golfers personalised development plans based on data they are already collecting through popular tracking systems.

Developed by ParOne, AVA Golf has opened its platform to eligible Arccos and Garmin users from its growing waiting list, marking the first stage in what the company says will become a broader connected ecosystem for golf performance analysis.

The launch reflects the rapid growth in golfers embracing performance technology. According to figures cited by the company from the National Golf Foundation, around 40% of regular golfers now use a golf app to monitor aspects of their game. While this has generated unprecedented volumes of data, many players still struggle to translate those statistics into practical improvement strategies.

Rather than introducing another hardware product, AVA Golf integrates with existing technologies, analysing data gathered during both rounds and practice sessions before recommending tailored instructional content. The platform generates personalised video playlists that focus on the areas expected to have the greatest impact on scoring, with recommendations continually adapting as a golfer’s performance evolves.

JR Charles, Founder and CEO of ParOne, believes the next stage of golf technology is helping players understand what their data actually means.

“Golf technology has become incredibly effective at measuring performance, but golfers have still been left asking one simple question: ‘What does that mean for me and my game?'” he said. “AVA Golf bridges the gap between data and improvement by identifying the areas that have the greatest impact on scoring and delivering a personalised progression plan that helps golfers improve faster.”

The platform operates around a three-stage philosophy of Activities, Performance and Improve. It evaluates the information golfers generate during play, identifies the performance trends that most influence scoring and delivers targeted instruction designed to maximise improvement. Instead of searching through hundreds of online coaching videos, users receive concise lessons prioritised according to their individual needs.

“Most golfers don’t need more information. They need more clarity,” said Aron Schüler, Director of Engineering for AVA Golf. “AVA Golf removes the guesswork by helping golfers understand what’s truly costing them strokes and delivering personalized instruction that gives every practice session a clear purpose.”

At launch, AVA Golf’s instructional library includes content from several respected coaching figures, including Golf Digest ‘50 Best Teachers in America’ Cheryl Anderson, GOLF Magazine ‘Top 100 Teachers in America’ Mike Malizia, Jason Birnbaum, who coaches four-time PGA TOUR winner Chris Gotterup, together with PGA TOUR Golf Academy instructors and other recognised teaching professionals.

Initially available to eligible Arccos and Garmin users, the company says additional technology integrations are already planned, expanding compatibility across the golf technology landscape. Charles described the longer-term ambition as creating the ‘intelligence layer’ that enables golfers to unlock greater value from the technology they already own rather than replacing it.

“Our vision has never been to build another instruction platform,” he said. “We’re building the platform that helps golfers understand their performance, know exactly what to work on next and improve through personalised progression. We believe that’s the future of game improvement.”
